And did you also know that Lara is co-owner of the Filipino restaurant jeepneyNYC which The New Yorker described as “the smartest and most gratifying”? A graduate of NYU’s creative writing program, Lara’s greatest pride, though, is for her students at Borough of Manhattan Community College of the City University of New York.
