Paloma Press author Jeanne-Marie Osterman met with Americans for the Arts President & CEO Nolen Bivens at The Yale Club of New York City to discuss her recent poetry book, Shellback (Paloma Press, 2021). During the meeting, Osterman donated royalties from her book to Americans for the Arts to help support the National Initiative for Arts & Health Across the Military. Read the full story here.

Shellback is featured in Americans for the Arts (News Room, social media, and the “Designing Our Destiny” web page), as well as The Yale Club Library for National Poetry Month (April 2023).

A Kirkus-starred book, Shellback was named one of the best books of 2021, and a Staff Pick at the New York Public Library. The book shines a light on the legacy of intergenerational war-related trauma, its burdens and profound consequences, and the importance of mental healing and breaking the cycle of oppression.
