Our conference abstract has been accepted for AGU23! Presentation is scheduled on December 11th, 8:30am, Poster Hall A-C, Exhibition Level, South, Moscone Center.
The abstract provides an overview of the recently released anthology, Dear Human at the Edge of Time: Poems on Climate Change in the United States, a companion to the Fifth National Climate Assessment (NCA5), co-edited by 2021 Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellows Luisa A. Igloria and Aileen Cassinetto & NCA5 Chapter Lead Dr. Jeremy S. Hoffman.
Co-editors Hoffman and Cassinetto will also participate in the Poets for Science panel with award-winning poet, translator, and essayist Jane Hirshfield, Wick Poetry Center Executive Director David Hassler, and AGU Science & Society Track Co-Lead Dr. Kathryn A. Semmens, on December 14th at 9am, Hall E, Exhibition Level, North.
The American Geophysical Union‘s Annual Meeting takes place in San Francisco this year, from December 11th to 15th, and is expected to draw more than 25,000 attendees including NCA authors. The Dear Human interactive microsite, which has been developed in partnership with Wick Poetry Center and Poets for Science, will be the focus of the Science and Society Section’s Innovation Session.
