

Congratulations to Gabriela Igloria who is graduating on December 16 from Old Dominion University with two bachelor’s degrees in English and women’s and gender studies and a minor in queer studies. She is also a member of ODU’s honors college. During her sophomore year, Gabriela won the undergraduate prize in poetry from the Academy of American Poets for her poem “Dreamscape with Winter, Ghost.”
Congratulations to Rio Renato Pulido Constantino on winning first prize for his essay, “The Year of the Periwinkle,” in the 71st Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature! Rio currently works as a biologist and research associate, and publishes monthly essays here: https://lunariver.substack.com.
Gabriela’s poem, “Catastrophizing,” and Rio’s essay, “A Place Beyond the Horizon,” were included in the anthology, HUMANITY, edited by Eileen Tabios, and released by Paloma Press in 2017 when they were both still in high school.
