Dear Human: A New Poets for Science Project

From David Hassler, Bob and Walt Wick Executive Director, Wick Poetry Center:

The Wick Poetry Center is thrilled to bring the Poets for Science project with Jane Hirshfield to the AGU annual meeting in San Francisco, December 11-15. A global community supporting more than half a million advocates and professionals in the Earth and space sciences, AGU will convene 26,000+ scientists from 100 countries in person this year to explore the theme: Wide. Open. Science.

We are grateful to partner with the AGU Science & Society Art & Science track and the editors of the new anthology, Dear Human at the Edge of Time: Poems on Climate Change in the United States, to create a community poem inspired by a selection of poems from the anthology. This new poetry collection has been published in conjunction with the recently released Fifth National Climate Assessment. You can also respond to the Art x Climate visual pieces published in the report or create your own erasure poem using the words from the NCA itself.

Visit Dear Human to share your voice in addressing climate change and explore how the intersection of science and art can foster creativity, innovation, and discovery.
