Dear Human meets the President of Ireland

Cassandra Bousquet, one of the youngest poets featured in our anthology Dear Human at the Edge of Time, while on her semester abroad, found herself invited to the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Terryland Forest Park and met none other than His Excellency Michael D. Higgins, the President of Ireland, who also happens to be a poet! Without missing a beat, Cassandra did the loveliest thing and gave the President a copy of Dear Human!

We’re grateful to Cassandra for representing the anthology with such grace, and congratulate her on this incredible experience!

Cassandra’s work is also featured in The Nature of Our Times: Poems on America’s Lands, Waters, Wildlife, and Other Natural Wonders, with the print anthology forthcoming in the fall. A former Linden Place Writer-In-Residence, former San Mateo County youth ecopoet in an Academy of American Poets-funded project and former San Mateo County Youth Climate Ambassador, Cassandra is co-managing editor at Mount Hope Magazine.
